Blackbox, with a coffee shop’s example data

Meet Daybreak Coffee Co., a small roaster that sells beans online. It is not a real business. Here is what its week in Blackbox looks like, from a suggestion in the inbox to knowing whether it worked.

This is an example workspace for a made-up coffee shop. Your own data is in your inbox.

1 · Inbox

Suggestions you approve, one tap at a time

Blackbox reads your ad accounts and Instagram every hour. When it spots something worth doing — a campaign that sells well and runs out of budget by lunch — it writes a card: what to change, why, and what should happen. Nothing changes until you press approve.

  • Plain reasons, with the numbers behind them
  • Change the amount before you approve
  • Undo from the same card
Example
Daybreak’s inbox: a suggestion to raise a budget from $25 to $35 a day arrives and is approved.
2 · Studio

Instagram posts written from your own website

Studio reads your site and suggests posts your customers would care about. Pick one and it makes the carousel and the caption in your colours and fonts. Edit anything, then schedule it for the time your followers are around.

  • Ideas based on what you actually sell
  • Slides, caption and alt text in one go
  • Schedule to Instagram and TikTok
Example
A five-slide brew guide Studio made for Daybreak, with its caption.
3 · Ads from posts

Turn a post that did well into an ad

When a post gets more attention than usual, Blackbox says so and offers to put money behind it. You choose who sees it, how much a day and for how long. It is made paused, so nothing spends until you start it.

  • Spot your best posts without digging
  • Set a daily budget and an end date
  • Keeps the post’s likes and comments
Example
Daybreak’s oat milk cortado post reached 2.8× its usual, so Blackbox offers to boost it.
4 · Track record

See whether each change worked

Every approved change is checked week by week for four weeks: what Blackbox estimated, what actually happened, and whether it beat leaving things alone. The misses are shown too, so you know how much to trust the next suggestion.

  • Week-by-week results for every change
  • Compared with doing nothing
  • Honest about the misses
Example
Daybreak’s track record: estimates landed inside their range 9 of 12 weeks.
