Step 2 of 4 in Level 2: Make your first post
Make an Instagram carousel with AI
Turn an idea into a branded Instagram carousel of 5 to 8 slides, written from your website’s facts, with a caption you can change before it goes out.
Short answer
To make an Instagram carousel with AI in Blackbox (blackbox.plus), start from an idea: clicking Make this opens its brief. On the Brief tab, read the Social hook — the first line people see — and the Outcome, pick or type a better hook, and click Approve brief. On the Create tab, switch on Carousel under Formats (Post is on by default; keep it for a single-image post as well) and pick 5, 6, 7 or 8 slides. Choose a Shape, such as Problem and solution or Before and after, and what it Ends on: one of your brand's asks, or Just the website. Click Create carousel. Writing takes about 30 seconds, then the slides are drawn in your brand's colours and fonts, using only facts from its fact sheet. Click Review and edit to open it with its three steps: Caption, Check and Post. There is a daily limit on how many you can create.

How to make an Instagram carousel with AI in Blackbox
- 01
Read the brief
The brief opens with two tabs, 1 Brief and 2 Create. Read the Social hook — the first line people see — and the Outcome, what the reader can do afterwards. Pick another hook from the list under it, or type your own. Changes save when you click away.
- 02
Approve it
Click Approve brief. It needs a social hook and an outcome first. You can still edit it afterwards; it moves you on to Create.
- 03
Choose Carousel and how many slides
Under Formats, switch on Carousel. Post is on by default — leave it on to get a single-image post as well, or switch it off. Under Slides, pick 5, 6, 7 or 8.
- 04
Choose the shape and the ending
Shape is how the story runs — Problem and solution, Before and after, Question and answer and more. Ends on is the ask the last slide and the caption finish with, or Just the website. If your brand has pictures turned on, pick a picture style too.
- 05
Create it
Click Create carousel (or Create carousel + post). Writing takes about 30 seconds, then the slides are drawn in your brand’s colours and fonts.
- 06
Open it
Under the preview, click Review and edit next to Carousel. The post opens with three steps — Caption, Check and Post — and the slides on the left.
Good to know
- Studio writes 5 to 8 slides. Instagram takes 2 to 10, and you can add or remove slides in the editor within that.
- There is a daily limit on how many you can create; the count shows under the Create button.
- Rewrite brief replaces every field with a fresh draft, including anything you edited. It asks before it does.
- Without pictures turned on for the brand, slides are words on your brand colours.
Questions people ask
- Can I change the words after it is made?
- Yes — every slide, the caption and the alt text. Click Edit slide on the post. See Edit slides, captions and alt text.
- Where do the facts on the slides come from?
- Only from your brand’s fact sheet and the page or idea it was made from. Studio does not fill gaps with guesses about your business. If something is wrong, fix the fact sheet on the brand page.
- Can I make a single-image post instead?
- Yes. Under Formats, keep Post on and switch Carousel off, then click Create post.
- Does it add pictures to the slides?
- If the brand has pictures turned on, each slide gets a generated picture behind the words in the style you chose. Turn it on from the brand page under Pictures, or from the link on the Create tab.
- Can I make a carousel from my own photos?
- Yes, by uploading them: up to 10 pictures become a carousel in the order you set. See Upload your own photos or video and post them.
