Studio reads your site, a single page, your product photos or a topic and suggests posts your brand could make. Pick one and it gets written.

Short answer

To get Instagram post ideas from your own website in Blackbox (blackbox.plus), you need a brand in Studio. Click Studio in the left menu, then Make one from an idea, and choose the brand. There are three ways in. On My ideas, paste an article or product page link, type a topic, or add up to four product photos, then click Make ideas; a topic or photos give three ideas. On My website, tick up to 10 pages worth a post — an article, a product, a landing page — and click Make ideas from selected. On Google search, which appears only when Google Search Console is connected for that site, tick up to six searches where your site shows up but rarely gets the click. A batch takes about a minute, and every idea is written from your brand's fact sheet rather than guesses. Click Make this on the one you want, and Studio writes the brief for the post.

How to get Instagram post ideas from your own website in Blackbox

    Open the ideas

    Click Studio in the left menu. On the New tab, under What are you making?, click Make one from an idea. If you have more than one brand, choose it under Which brand?

    Start from a link, a topic or a photo

    On the My ideas tab, paste an article or product page link, type a topic, or click Add photos to add up to four photos of your product. Then click Make ideas. A topic or photos give you three ideas; a link is read and ideas are written from what the page says.

    Or pick pages from your website

    On the My website tab, tick the pages worth a post — an article, a product, a landing page — up to 10 at a time, and click Make ideas from selected. Tick Every page, not just the feed to search the whole site, or click Make an idea on a single row.

    Or answer what people search for

    The Google search tab lists searches where your site shows up on Google but rarely gets the click. Tick up to six and click Make ideas. The post answers the question; it never quotes the numbers.

    Wait about a minute

    A bar shows the batch working. When it says Ideas are ready, they appear under Ideas, each with up to three dots for how closely it fits what your site says you do, and where it came from.

    Choose one

    Click Make this on the idea you want. Studio writes a brief — the plan for the post — and opens it. Making the carousel from it is the next guide.

Good to know

  • Product pages bring up to two of their own photos; articles bring text only.
  • Click the heart on an idea to keep it, then tick Favourites only to see just those.
  • A page that already has an idea shows View idea instead of a checkbox, so you do not make the same post twice.

Questions people ask

The Google search tab is missing
It only appears when Google Search Console is connected for that brand’s website and your login can read it. Connect it from Data, then reopen the ideas.
It says no posts were found on the feed
The brand has no blog feed set, or the feed is empty. Tick Every page, not just the feed to pick from your whole site, or add the feed on the brand page under Blog feed.
Can I write my own idea?
Yes. Type the topic into the box on My ideas and click Make ideas — you get three ideas written from it and your brand’s facts.
Does it copy the text on my website?
No. It writes new posts from what your pages say, and only from facts in your brand’s fact sheet. If an idea gets something wrong, fix the fact sheet on the brand page and it stays fixed.
It is still working after three minutes
Reload the page in a moment. The ideas land on the list when the batch finishes, even if the page stopped checking.
