Guide 3 of 7 in Level 4: Run it as an ad
How to set your Facebook Page, Meta pixel and Snapchat profile
To set your ad account defaults in Blackbox (blackbox.plus), an admin clicks Settings, opens the Ad accounts tab and clicks a Meta ad account, whose card says what is missing, such as Country, Page, Pixel not set. Add the target countries, then pick the Facebook Page every new ad runs from, how a sale is measured (your Meta pixel, or No pixel to optimise for page views) and the Instagram account the ads appear from, and click Save until the badge reads All set. Every Meta campaign on that account uses these unless a campaign says otherwise, so New Campaign’s checks stop blocking for a missing Page or pixel and the ad review stops asking. Snapchat ad accounts sit below, under Snapchat: paste the brand’s Public Profile id, the long code from Public Profiles in Snapchat Ads Manager, and save, because Snapchat refuses every ad without it. Boosting a live post needs none of this.
- You'll need
- Meta Ads connected — The ad account whose defaults you set, with Meta signed in so its Pages and pixels load.
- An admin login — Only admins see the Ad accounts tab.
- For Snapchat, Snapchat Ads connected — And the brand’s Public Profile in Snapchat Ads Manager.
- Time
- About 4 minutes 10 steps Updated
- You'll end with
- Each ad account marked All set, and Snapchat marked Ready, so ads stop asking
How to set your Facebook Page, Meta pixel and Snapchat profile in Blackbox
Step 1:Open Ad accounts
Click Settings in the sidebar, then the Ad accounts tab.
You'll see: One card per ad account, each with a badge such as 3 missing or All set.
Open this in BlackboxStep 2:Open a Meta ad account
Click the Meta ad account’s name.
You'll see: Its card opens, with what is missing in amber, such as Country, Page, Pixel not set.

Under Target countries, click the suggested country, or type one and press Enter.
You'll see: The country as a chip in the field.
Step 4:Pick the Facebook Page
Under Facebook Page, pick the Page your ads run from.
You'll see: The Page’s name in place of Pick a Page.
Step 5:Pick how a sale is measured
Under How a sale is measured, pick your Meta pixel, or No pixel — optimise for page views if you have none.
You'll see: The pixel’s name in place of Pick a pixel.
Step 6:Pick the Instagram account
Under Instagram account, pick the account your ads appear from, or keep Use the Page’s Instagram.
You'll see: Your Instagram handle, such as @daybreakcoffee, in the field.
Step 7:Save the Meta settings

Step 9:Paste it in Blackbox
Back on Ad accounts, under Snapchat, paste the code into Public Profile id.

Step 10:Save the Snapchat settings

You'll see: Ready on the card in place of Public Profile missing.
Good to know
- Every new Meta ad runs from the Facebook Page, and so do Meta’s own lead forms. A boost runs as the account that posted it, so it needs neither the Page nor the pixel.
- Sell and Win back campaigns count sales with the pixel. With No pixel, they aim for people loading your page instead.
- Meta needs an Instagram account for an ad with more than one size. Use the Page’s Instagram works when the Page has one linked.
- Left empty, New Campaign’s Review blocks the campaign with Open Settings, and Launch as ad asks on every ad.
- Ad sets reach, under Audience, is who new ad sets on the account reach unless a campaign sets its own.
- The Snap Pixel id is optional. Sell and Win back campaigns on Snapchat use it.
If something doesn't work
There’s no Ad accounts tab in Settings
Only admins see it; members see the Team tab only. Ask an admin to set the defaults, or to make you an admin under Team.
My Facebook Page isn’t in the list
The list shows the Pages your Meta login can manage. Get access to the Page in Meta Business settings, then reconnect Meta Ads on the Data page and open the card again.
I don’t have a Meta pixel
Pick No pixel — optimise for page views and save. To add a pixel later, create it in Meta Events Manager, then pick it here.
It says Reconnect Meta to load Pages and pixels
Meta has signed this connection out. Reconnect it and open the card again — see How to reconnect, sync or disconnect a Facebook ad account.
It says the Public Profile id is the long code Snapchat shows
What you pasted isn’t the whole id. Copy the full code from the address of the profile’s page in Snapchat Ads Manager, with its dashes, and save again.
The Save button stays grey
Nothing has changed since the last save. Change a setting or edit an id, and it wakes up.
