Connect Google Search Console to Blackbox
See the queries, clicks and positions your site earns in Google next to your paid and social numbers. This connection can only read.
Before you start
A verified property
The site must already be verified in Google Search Console. Blackbox reads properties, it cannot verify one for you.
Access to that property
The Google account you sign in with must own the property or have full access to it. Owning the domain is not the same thing.
Nothing to pick afterwards
There is no account picker. Every verified property that login can read is discovered on the first sync.
Step by step

Open Data in Blackbox
Sign in to Blackbox and click Data in the left menu, then Connect a channel at the top right.

Pick Google Search Console
Open the Provider dropdown and choose Google Search Console, then click Connect.

Approve on the Google screen
A Google window opens and asks to view your Search Console data. This is a read-only request — there is no version of it that can change anything. Approve it.

That's it
Your verified properties appear after the first sync. Blackbox backfills as much history as Google keeps, so the first sync takes longer than later ones.
Blackbox can read
- Your daily clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position
- The search queries your site appears for, and how each one performs
- Which pages earn those impressions and clicks
Blackbox will not
- Change anything at all — this connection is read-only, and there is no write path in Blackbox for it
- Submit or remove URLs, edit sitemaps or alter your Search Console settings
- See properties your Google account cannot already read
If something doesn't work
- My property is missing
- Blackbox skips properties where your access is unverified, because every request against them is refused and would look like a broken connection. Verify the property, or ask its owner to give your account full access, then reconnect.
- I have a domain property and a URL property. Which one?
- They are two separate properties with separate data. A domain property covers every subdomain and both http and https; a URL-prefix property covers only the exact prefix. Connect whichever one you actually use for reporting.
- Yesterday's numbers changed
- Google revises recent days for about three days after the fact. Blackbox re-reads them and updates, so the last couple of days settle rather than staying wrong.
- How far back does history go?
- Google keeps roughly sixteen months, and Blackbox backfills what it can on the first sync. Anything older than that is not available from Google at all.
- Is this the same as connecting Google Ads?
- No. They are separate connections with separate permissions, even on the same Google account. Disconnecting one leaves the other working.
