Guide 3 of 17 in Level 1: Get set up
How to teach AI your brand guidelines and voice
To teach Blackbox (blackbox.plus) more about your brand than its website says, open the brand in Studio and use its Knowledge and Profile cards. In Knowledge, drop in your brand guidelines, decks, product sheets or old briefs, as PDF, PowerPoint, Word, images, text or CSV up to 50 MB each, or paste a link to a public page; each is read into passages Blackbox can search. In Profile, click Suggest changes: Blackbox reads those files and how your posts did, and suggests lines about your audience, positioning, voice and what works, each with how sure it is and what it rests on. Click Add to the profile on every line that is true, No on the rest, and type anything else you know for certain into What we know for certain. Every brief and post is written from what you confirmed, never from a suggestion nobody added; the scenes your pictures show sit under Pictures on the Look card.

Good to know
- Briefs and posts are written from the confirmed profile: what you typed and the lines you added. A suggestion nobody added is read by nothing.
- The Inbox’s ad suggestions read what the profile says the brand is — audience, positioning, voice — but never its What works lines.
- An Avoid line that says stops suggesting, such as carousel, stops the Inbox suggesting that kind of post.
- Knowledge is also what the chat and the Inbox search when they need your own words. Search what this brand knows finds what they would find.
- PDFs and pictures are read by AI in the background and can take a few minutes. Decks, Word files and text are read straight away.
- A link is read once, when you add it. If the page changes, remove it with the bin and add it again.
- Ask the customer first marks a line about what the brand is. Anyone on the brand can add it, so check with the owner.
- Make again replaces the scenes with new ones from your facts. It uses a few AI credits and can take up to two minutes.
If something doesn't work
A file says Needs checking
The red line says why. Usually there was no text to read, as in a scanned page. Upload a copy with real text, or paste the page as a link, then remove the old one with the bin.
It says we can’t read that kind of file yet
Older .ppt and .doc files, Keynote and Pages aren’t read. Save it as PDF, .pptx or .docx and drop it in again.
Suggest changes says there is nothing to go on yet
It needs something to read: add a file or a link to Knowledge, or wait until some of your posts have been measured, then click it again.
Posts still say something I took out
Removing a file stops it being read, but a line you added from it stays. Click the × on that line under Confirmed by a person. Posts already made keep their words.
Pictures says there is nothing to show
Pictures are off for this brand. Tick Put a generated picture behind every slide, pick a style and click Save. Then click change again and Make them.
