Step 2 of 2 in Level 5: Grow

Act on the Inbox’s suggestions

Each Inbox card says what to change, why, and roughly what it should do. Approve it, adjust it, ask about it or put it off — nothing happens until you act.

Short answer

To act on the Inbox's suggestions in Blackbox (blackbox.plus), click Inbox in the left menu and open your brand; a banner says how many suggestions are waiting. Each card's headline is the change, said as what you get, followed by why and a few numbers per week: now, and roughly what to expect if you approve. A badge — High confidence, Worth a look or Your call — says how much weight to put on the estimate. Click Show the numbers and what to do for the plan, what to watch and what you can change, such as a budget or an audience. The main button names exactly what happens, for example raising a budget, boosting a post or planning posts in Studio. Not now lets you snooze a card for a day or dismiss it, and Ask about this answers questions first. Nothing changes on any account until you press the main button, and Undo is on the card afterwards.

A little history

Suggestions come from your own numbers, so they need some posts or campaigns to read.

How to act on the Blackbox Inbox’s suggestions

  1. 01

    Open the Inbox

Click Inbox in the left menu and open your brand. A banner says how many suggestions are waiting. Use All, Posts or Campaigns to narrow them; Check my posts or Check my campaigns looks again now.

  2. 02

    Read the card

The headline is the change, said as what you get. Under it is why, and a few numbers per week: now, and roughly what to expect if you approve. A badge says how sure Blackbox is — High confidence, Worth a look or Your call.

  3. 03

    Open the details

Click Show the numbers and what to do to see What we’ll do, Why, What to watch and What you can change. Where a card has a budget or an audience, change it there; the estimate updates as you type.

  4. 04

    Act on it

The main button names exactly what happens — for example Raise to a new budget, Boost on Instagram, Plan new ads, or Plan a number of posts a week. Post plans open in Studio; nothing is posted without you.

  5. 05

    Or put it off

Click Not now to Snooze it for a day or Dismiss it. When dismissing you can say why — it helps avoid suggesting the same thing again. Ask about this answers questions about the card first.

  6. 06

    See how it went

After approving, Undo is on the card. The Results tab shows what happened after the cards you approved; Track record in the left menu shows how the estimates have held up across every brand.

Good to know

  • Cards come in a few kinds: budget, pause and audience changes on campaigns; new campaigns; boosting a post that beat your usual; plans to post more or less of a format; Google searches worth a post; and questions only you can answer.
  • The numbers are estimates, shown as rough ranges — the confidence badge says how much weight to put on them.
  • Nothing changes on any account until you press the card’s main button.

Questions people ask

Does approving a post suggestion post something?
No. It plans the posts and opens Studio, where you make them and choose when they go out. Nothing is posted without you.
How sure are the numbers?
They are estimates from your own accounts’ history. The badge — High confidence, Worth a look or Your call — says how much to trust each one, and Track record shows how past estimates held up.
What happens if I dismiss a card?
It goes away, and the reason you give (if any) is used to avoid suggesting the same thing later. Snooze brings it back after a day instead.
Can I undo an approval?
Yes. Undo appears on the card once it is approved. For a campaign that is already running, you can also pause it in Meta Ads Manager.
I have no suggestions
Suggestions need connected accounts and some history to read. Click Check my posts or Check my campaigns to look again, or start with Get Instagram post ideas from your own website.
