Guide 15 of 15 in Level 1: Get set up
How to change or cancel your Blackbox subscription
To change or cancel your Blackbox subscription, sign in to Blackbox (blackbox.plus), click Settings in the left menu and then Manage billing on the plan card. Billing shows your plan, its price, when the current period started and the date it renews. Click Manage in Stripe to open Stripe’s billing page for your workspace: change the card you pay with, download past invoices, or cancel. After you cancel, Billing says Cancellation scheduled with the date your plan ends; everything keeps working until then, and you can reactivate from the same Stripe page. Nothing in your workspace is deleted when a plan ends. Starter is $199 a month plus tax, in US dollars, for one brand, 2 channels and 2 seats. When you reach one of those limits, or want a feature Starter doesn’t include, Blackbox shows what your plan has and offers Custom instead, which is set up on a 30-minute call rather than by card.
- You'll need
- A plan started — Starter, started by card at setup. Billing shows the plans instead until one is.
- An admin login — Only an admin opens Stripe’s billing page or changes the plan. Members see the plan and when it renews.
- Time
- About 3 minutes 8 steps Updated
- You'll end with
- Your card, invoices or cancellation sorted on Stripe, and the date your plan renews or ends

Good to know
- Starter is one plan: $199 a month plus tax, in US dollars, with no setup fee. It covers one brand, 2 channels and 2 seats, for up to $15k of ad spend a month.
- A channel is a platform, such as Meta Ads or Google Ads. Two accounts on the same platform count as one channel.
- Custom is for more channels, seats or brands, ad spend above $15k a month, or letting Blackbox move budgets on its own. It is priced on your ad spend and set up on a call, with no card.
- Automatic budget changes are the one feature not on Starter. Recommendations and launching campaigns are on your plan.
- What you change on Stripe shows on Billing once Stripe tells Blackbox, usually within seconds of coming back.
- If a payment fails, Billing says Payment overdue and the app keeps working while you update the card. Your workspace’s admins get an email about it.
- A plan that has ended asks you to start Starter again. Your brands, posts and connections are where you left them.
- For the first payment, see How to get started with Blackbox.
If something doesn't work
Billing says Payment overdue
Your last payment didn’t go through. Click Manage in Stripe and update your card; Stripe tries the payment again, and the app keeps working meanwhile.
Billing says Cancellation scheduled
Your plan ends on the date shown and works until then. To keep it, click Manage in Stripe and reactivate it there.
There’s no Manage in Stripe button
Only an admin can open Stripe’s billing page; members see “An admin manages billing.” instead. Ask one of your admins.
It says a channel would be my 3rd channel
Starter covers 2 channels, and another account on a platform you already use doesn’t count. Disconnect one you no longer use on the Data page, or click See plans to set up Custom on a call.
Billing shows the plans instead of my subscription
This workspace has no plan right now: it was never started, or it has ended. Click Continue to checkout on Starter; anything you set up before is still there.
I can’t find Billing in the menu
Billing has no menu entry of its own. Click Settings, then Manage billing on the plan card at the top.
